Ola Florence Kochis, 76, of Naalehu died on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at her residence. She was born on Aug. 25, 1939, in Wink, Texas. She was a member of the Ka‘u Civic Club and the Ka‘u Farmers Market.
A Celebration of Life will take place 10 a.m. Aug. 25 at the Whittington Beach Park in Naalehu. Family requests no flowers.
She is survived by spouse, Roy Kochis of Naalehu; 3 sons, Rodney Kochis of Springfield, Ore., Randy Kochis of Nevada, and Ronald Kochis of Nevada; daughter, Donna (David) Pellegrino of Nevada; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Cantor
Mary Jane Leinaala Kurashige Cantor, 79, of Captain Cook, died July 19, 2016, at Kona Community Hospital. Born on Jan. 1, 1937, in South Kona, she was a PBX operator and cafeteria worker.
Memorial service will be held Aug. 27 at Courtyard King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel ballroom. Visitation is at 8 a.m. and service is at 10 a.m. The family requests casual attire.
She is survived by sons, Peter (Iris) Cantor of Kohanaiki, Stanley (Ann) Cantor of Kealakekua, and Paul (Sharon) Cantor of Kealakehe; daughters, Tessie Cantor of Ooma, and Mary (Joel) Toves of Wahiawa, Oahu; daughter-in-law, Gail Cantor of Kealakehe; brother, Jesse Valera of Kealakekua; sisters, Elvine (Leroy) Victorine of Hilo, Primrose (William) Paulos of Montana, Dayne (Raymond) Snell and Evonelle Hurley, of Captain Cook; sisters-in-law, Virginia Kurashige of Honaunau, and Maxine Looney of Mililani, Oahu; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
